Is there anyway to get the AIM (from OZ messenger) to run over a data plan (like the sidekick does) Instead of SMS, sms takes forever to send a receive and everything is so slow....anyone know i have a regeditor and all that but need to know how if its possible?

Going to Handango I see that IM+ is available for the Dash... and it claims to send IM over the datanetwork as opposed to SMS. Can anyone vouch for this?

i can, I currently have IM+ and AgileMobile on my Excalibur and they both run on GPRS..

which client do you prefer, IM+ or Agile?

Posted by: ebaydan777

ok i downloaded IM+ but all i have is the grey icons at the bottom of the screen (for aim, yahoo, msn, etc...) and i cant actually sign in to my AIM on the IM+, its on the trial version but shouldnt that still let u try out the product before you actually purchase a registration key and input it?

ok nevermind i got into the IM+

my question is, is there anyway to change the OZ messenger to data instead of SMS, i really dont want to pay another $29.99 for the IM+ or $25 for the Agile, id rather use the OZ that the phone came from

i really wish someone has a way to change it from SMS to Data on the OZ Messenger, thanks please input! -Daniel

The OZ IM client uses SMS for pretty much everything, and since Tmobile doesn't allow SMS over GPRS, no, you can't use the OZ IM over data.

really? the oz im client is sms? i ask bvecuase whenever i log onto oz im it also logs onto the gprs/edge. this is why i ask.

i prefer Agile mobile cuz of it has tabbed im windows.. also IM+ logs you out when u recieve a call.. agile mobile doesn't.. I downloaded a trial from agile mobile.com and its been over 3 weeks and it still works.. the trial is 7 days.. or check gsmhosting.com.. enjoy.. happy turkey day...

oook so i got agile messenger workin on my phone, curious though, is there anyway to get this stupid "voice message" thing off when you press enter? Because i like to use "Send" as the "Enter" key......anyone know how to fix this and have it stop sending audio lol

Posted by: ebaydan777

oh and addition to using the "enter key" as "send" how the hell do you get that annoying voice message send off and replace it with "send" as both the select navigation key and enter key...man that is so annoying and loud

It has a data component that logs into GPRS, but the messages the client sends and receives are SMS.

Agile Messenger is the best IM program for the PPC and Smartphone, period. But all of a sudden, I get the warning message that it's a trial. If they charged 30 bucks for unlimited use of it, a lot of us here would buy it. But they went to a subscription model where you pay money every three months. That I refuse to do.

Also, when you log in with Agile (not sure about iMov or IM+), you are logging in with your credentials on their servers and they act as a proxy between you and the appropriate servers. Agile sends and receives all messages for you. This I don't like.

Am trying now to find another messenger program besides Agile. I find their pricing structure to be on the high side for the caliber of service and quality of product that is offered. If the program could log on without me having to have IE open then it might be worth paying that much for but it's dependent on IE or another browser/application being online in order for it to essentially "piggyback" off the connection. Has anyone here tried iMov??
