All,
My 3G / GPRS connection works with wap.cingular and I have a PDA Data Connect Plan ($ 34.95 / month). However, when I changed it to isp.cingular, the phone won't connect to the data service.
I've tried entering the following to no avail (CASE SENSITIVE):
User name: ISPDA@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
GPRS APN: isp.cingular
OR ...
User name: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
APN: ISP.CINGULAR
What exactly did I do wrong?
Please help!

CAn anyone help me or at least confirm whether the configurations listed above are correct?
Thanks!

The first User Name is incorrect. The second set of user/pass is all correct. I have the same settings, and am using them now. Do you get at least to the "locating" screen? Or, are you stuck with no connection whatsoever?

Would may also help if we knew what phone you're using? Any of the ones listed on your profile?

I noticed I had to reset the 8525 if I made a change the APN.

TheFuzz,
What is the correct settings for the ISPDA@CINGULAR.COM then? Also, are these settings suppose to be case-sensitive?
elushon,
I am using a Cingular 8525 with PDA Connect Unlimited Add-On ($ 34.95 / month)
Webtoker,
No effect for me...
Maybe because I don't have the right settings for ISPDA, per TheFuzz

Maybe I'm the ignorant one..but..I have never heard nor seen of a connection with a user name of ISPDA? So, maybe it is a new one? My 8525 shipped with the only connection being the standard wap settings. I then did the same thing you are talking about and created a new connection. Using;
APN: ISP.CINGULAR
username: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Pass:CINGULAR1
Only other thing I did was change the DNS settings to a static server based on others' people posts in regards to the "locating" bug on Cingular's servers. As I asked before, are getting no connection whatsoever? Or can you at least get to the "locating" dialog box? And, can any other program access the connection?

ISPDA is valid... It uses an acceleration proxy to give more speed. You see it if you use the Cingular Connection Manager software.

OK, problem solved.
Apparently, Cingular took out the "PDA Connect Unlimited" data plan for NO APPARENT REASON, even though I've ordered it when I sign up for Cingular on 11/17 and this was shown in the Order Confirmation email. They added it back and now ISP.CINGULAR worked flawlessly.
This is a good learning lesson though. I only knew about this when I checked my web account. Have I not, I'd keep using WAP.CINGULAR until my 1st bill comes out and I will getting charged for EVERY kilobytes under the pay-per-use plan for the next 30 days, which will be in THOUSANDS of dollars (I use about 80 Mb / month based on my T-Mobile bills).
I just spoke with CS and they agreed to adjust the charge from 11/20 - 11/22 since it's their fault, but AFTER I received my bills, which will be 27days from now since I just started my service 3 days ago. Hopefully the new CS I'll be talking to next month will not give me further grief...

So, if I have the unlimited PDA connect data plan, can I use the "ISPDA" connection the same as the normal ISP.CINGULAR connection without incurring additional charges?
