Not a working number error on Blackjack (3g)

I have just got my blackjack and anytime that the phone is in 3g, people that call me will get an error saying that it is not a working number about a third of the time. I went to a cingular store and they called their tech support and had them reset the LRN then recreate my account and finally replace the phone with no luck. They said that they created an advanced trouble ticket and said someone would call me in a few days. I have set the blackjack to use GSM only and it works fine. Any thoughts?
