They ship to Canada. I purchased my Treo 650 from them in March. Follow the links to order. Shipping is free to Canada for Treo Smartphones.

This is the footnote I get on the final order page

*Click here for our shipping methods and rates.

**Applicable sales tax will be added to orders shipped to CA, GA, KY, MA, PA, and Canada. (Details)

All prices are in US dollars.

What is the additional Exchange Server support? Would like to go back to Palm but really like the "push" mail i am getting with WM.

Does is have a2dp?

Posted by: jreagles16

palm does push to it depends on provider. All treo devices do exchange serve. And new OS? it technically isn't a new OS just a new phone UI.

Short review on it at TreoCentral

And some pictures of it here at PIC.

I really wish I had one. I waited a few months for it after hearing the rumors and now its finally out and I have another PDA and cell phone.

Not too bad of a price if you don't want wi-fi. The $200 price requires an unlimited data plan though.

..BTW, anyone have a wi-fi sled for 650s?

The unlocked one on Palms website for $399 will be unbranded right? The only thing thats kept me from Palm in the past was the stupid antenna on all their phones. With a 2.5 jack and full sd card support this could be my Dash replacment...

I am assuming unbranded. I purchased the unlocked version with that assumption.

I know there unlocked. My question was Unbranded?

hmmm, should be...

*will search...

Unlocked always means unbraded from Palm. I purchased my Treo 600 unlocked from Palm and it displayed no logos.

I wish I had purchased my Treo 650 unbranded because it is getting long in the tooth explaining to people how just because my Treo 650 says Cingular on the case, doesn't mean I have Cingular. Its GSM people, WOW! lol

Im still deciding on color. Its between Arctic and Orange.

PS: I give Palm major props on the the "My Treo" app. I bought a Palm z22 a few months ago and having the similar app bundled on it helped me one day when I needed CPR information. So I guess you could say "Addit" saved the day! I am also wondering if these ship with Documents to Go 8 or the new released version 9?

A LOT THINNER!

The OS is a 0.0.1 version upgrade - not exactly new . And what new messaging application? I believe it's the same threaded SMS app we've always had.

By the way, the 680 comes bundled with DocsToGo 8, not 9.

Posted by: fishera

If you go to the Treo 680 page about messaging, the interface looks new.

I already have DocsToGo8, so no upgrade there for me. The Palm OS 5.4.9 has less bugs, new application upgrades, and I like the new txt caller back feature!

The increased memory and ROM will prevent glitches when running pTunes in the background wall doing something else. Right now I have 1.4MB free on my Treo 650, not good when I do a lot of txt and pxt messaging lol.

i just got mine yesterday so far so good[ treo 680

Posted by: ALLEG23

the new messaging app has sms and mms combined. they are seperate apps on the 600/650. I dont know if they are in the 700p.

i went conservative and got graphite. I have had my 650 since it has been out and the paint hasnt flaked off. I worry that this a possibility with the other colors. I was going to get the white one, before i went with gray.

Posted by: fishera

The SMS and MMS are seperate apps on the Treo 650?? I knew they were on the Treo 600, but Im pretty sure they are combined on Palm OS Garnet....

Im going with white!

your right, the are the same app on the 650.

The 680 can run 4GB cards natively (without a ROM patch). It was tested at mytreo.net.

Posted by: fishera

One reason I am selling my Treo 650 for the Treo 680, I need the extra internal memory and 4GB SD card support.

I never trusted the ROM patch for the Treo 650. I also can't wait for 8GB SD cards to come onto the market and for those to work with the Treo 680's!

Posted by: WirelessAndy

Any indication that the 680 is less prone to crashes, lockups, etc vs. the 650? I know that there are many 650 users who never have any crashes... But still.

Also, I noticed that nearly all 650 keyboards have "mushy feeling" keys on the letter P. I wonder if the 680 is built any better.

Posted by: iandi

I don't think it's worth the upgrade from the 650...I'll wait for palm to build in Wifi and then upgrade

There's no reason not to trust a custom ROM with the FAT32.PRC; the card readers of the 650, 680, and 700 are all identical.

As for 8GB SD cards, they will never be compatible with the Treo. Those follow a new specification called SDHC which is only compatible with an SDHC reader, of which the Treo does not have.

Just bought a Crimson 680 online (Graphite was a 1-2 week wait).

I'll report back and compare against the BB8700 which it "might" replace...

Palm would never do that. Or at least any time soon.

Posted by: Chinasaur

Crimson shipped today with 12/6 delivery. Anyone have any positives/negatives to report? So I know what to watch out for?

a lot of both on treocentral 680 board.

btw, I got the graphite one yesterday. so far so good.

Posted by: Legodude522

BTW, I heard the European Palm Tech Support will not fix the Treo 680 if you break it since it's so new. They don't have the means to fix them yet even if you pay.
