Hey there guys (and girls)

Though I'm a first time poster here, I'm not a first time poster at all and have read the FAQs and searched frequently for answers to most of my questions. However, I do have specific questions that I hope you guys can answer. Uh.. first off, I would like to say thank you already for all the help I've read over the forums, you guys already seem to be a helpful and enthusiastic group. I should enjoy being a part of these forums, uh secondly I've been a treo 600 user since high school and because of my promo I got to love this phone. It's everything in 1 video (tcmp choppy though) mp3 (w/ sd card) camera, and a PDA.

I'm in 2nd year Commerce student in university now, and I am heavily reliant on my Treo for organizing my life and keeping me entertained whilst being productive at the same time. I know my treo has been state of the art for a while but it's starting to look a little dated with the screen having a low res, and the video not playing, as well as no WiFi (ya thats going ot be hard to fix :s)...

Anyway, I want to stay within the Treo/Smartphone flatform and now that I have some money saved up (lol a student SAVING money) I have some preferences I'd like to keep using and get me an up to date treo that'll last me a bunch more years... here's a list of features I am hopeful to have/retain:

- WIFI (I know the treo 650s could be hacked but I heard firmware fixed it and that SDIO cards will work for it but not the 700P, but the WX)

- Video playback (I want to basically have an ipod video or something to watch clips on)

- MP3 Playback (this again will have to resemble an ipod or mp3 player)

- Easy to use scheduling (like the 600)

I've looked at the Treo 650 (I know, but the res is 320x320), the Treo 700WX (it's available and it'd be something new) the 700P (also coming in Dec.), and the Moto Q (nice size, has the features of a 650 MINUS a touch screen and a small res).

Those are the ONLY smartphones/pds available through Bell Mobility, my provider and im locked in a contract with CDMA.

So any suggestions? (thanks for reading my post )

first the Q doesn't have any where close to the same features as the treo 650 does.

That is missleading. The q can only view docs, organize life, listen to mp3s, and video. Also there are like 50 apps out there for the Q. Compared to palm os apps there are what 10,000+ so I say the q is great for looks and slimness, but functionality wise it blows.

What OS do you want? Cuz I have read/heard that the WM5 experiences more crashes then compared to palm os. Also, the 700w/wx might be better for you cuz u can access free internet and have more apps available to you than Palm os has to offer.

If you want to stick with palm os i recommend 650 and a 4 gb card + wifi card. That would be a good reliable stable device. But it also depends on how much you use the wifi on a treo devices.

I use the treo 700p in class all the time. It works great espically when on the road cuz I can take just my phone and do all my homework it.
