Hi

Does the Backup and Restore work okay ?

I've been backing up stuff for a while now, but I have'nt done a restore yet,

I'm hoping that my "Contacts" stuff gets restored okay as I'm about to bite the bullit and upgrage to R1G next week.

I've tried using Epocware's File manager on PC too, but that won't touch Contacts.cdb in c:\system\data.... file gets copied but is 0 bytes in size....... anyone know why ?

I was just about to jump in and say "yes, no problems here" but I have never done a restore, as well.

I know Adam at LVwireless backs up p800's b4 upgrading them, now. Everyone has been happy when they get their phones back with all their old info intact and the latest firmware installed.

I tried it last week to try and determine why something wasn't working.

Restore worked no problems.

I had no problem backing up on R2B and restoring back onto R2D after a FW upgrade. I have also restored to muliple different units with no problems.

FYI - depending on the amount of data, it takes a good 1.5hrs to restore.

my restore took about 15 minutes, together with the MSD.

I don't know why you would even attempt to restore from a previous version, it would probably cause a big mess, as the backup saves some file formats that may have changed, etc.

I would do a sync instead, and install software manually.
