Pearl noob question....

Ok, sorry for the question here, but I figured I'd ask some experts to get the right answer to solve this problem.

Got me a new Pearl with data plan today and love it. Sending/receiving emails is fine, but I've got two issues that I can't figure out as follows:

I have 2 message icons on my home screen, one labeled messages, the other my @blackberry.rogers.com messages. Each time I send/receive email, messages get dumped into both folders....now this never happened on my 8700r, why is it happening on the Pearl?

My second question.......I'd like to access Google Maps, but have no BB Browser icon on my home screen. Do I need to download one?

Thanks guys,

Go to options/advanced options/host routing table then register and your browser icons should show up.

Were you using the old BIS 1.8 before? W/ BIS 2.0 all email addresses get their own designated mailbox on the handheld. If you don't want to see seperate mailboxes just hide the one(s) that you don't want to see.

Thanks for the first part, that worked.

As for BIS 2.0, how do I know if this is what I'm using currently? I got this Pearl directly from RIM and haven't updated anything on it...the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" routine.

If I need to download updated software just to make this email feature happen...I'll do it, but just want to figure out how I know if I'm BIS 1.8 or BIS 2.0 first.

And thanks for replying so quick! I've read plenty of your posts, yer like a walking BB dictionary.
