AppForge Booster® is an operating system extension that enhances the functionality of handheld devices. When installed on a device, you are able to run thousands of applications developed by the leading mobile application developers. Many of these applications are available for download at http://scripts.appforge.com/app_exchange/samples.asp and other popular handheld software sites.

AppForge hasn't listed the p800 as one of the selectable categories on the drop down box at

http://scripts.appforge.com/app_exchange/samples.asp

hopefully they do it soon

maybe their waiting for other Visual Basic developers to create applications for that section

now that this 1st build is out, there'll probably be programs on other sites that we can download soon

I wonder since the 9290 runs off a previous version of symbian os, if we could install programs on the 9290 section off AppForge's site for the p800

I downloaded the application, installed, and voila, it works
then all you have to do is run the program, which advises you to do an uptade, wireless uptades, it the downloads all the app available for the p800.
It seems that finally we are moving forward.

"Hey guys, glad to see there is so much excitement about Booster for P800. We wanted to provide some first hand information about some of the questions. First of all, the final release of MobileVB with P800 support is the week of 14 Mar 03 (http://www.appforge.com/sonyericsson).

There are currently 72 Visual Basic - MobileVB apps that will ship with the P800 at the end of the month. Most are available for demo and purchase from the More Apps application, once Booster is installed (Visit http://www.appforge.com/booster.html#get-booster, and download AppForge Booster for Sony Ericsson P800. More Apps is bundled with Booster.)

Our internal developers are working on code samples and demo apps to be presented on AppForge.com. Most of the work will be completed by Wednesday (4 Mar 03), and many may be available as early as Tuesday morning. (http://scripts.appforge.com/app_exchange/samples.asp)

We are excited to provide the developer community with support for the P800."

Now that is what the P800 was designed for and all the hype was about. Tons of applications to use now before it has been officially released, great beginnings for a new kind of communication device.

wat is the diff with booaster and Mobile VB? im confused!

It allows programs developed in Visual Basic language (Microsoft) to be coverted for use with the Symbian OS, (layman's terms) What it means????
Programs which have been developed for use in Palm devices can easily be made to work with the P800's Symbian OS which means more applications for everyone!

The booster is the program that will run these Visual Basic applications on your P800.

I know this is not a technically accurate explanation, but it is a common sense one.
