NO. If customers cannot, why could you?

Not very likely considering it is against policy, I also get those calls.

Yeah at least once a week I send someone out the door without their phone because I refuse to bill thier account for the phone. They say we're a holes and they're gonna report us to Cingular, and walk out the door.

So we go notate the account and right down their info. Check the account 3 hours later and sure enough there's more account notes complaing about us refusing to let them bill a phone to their account. And the poor CSR telling them the exact same thing we told them and generally it ends with, "call disconnected."

(Disclaimer: I don't work for Cingular, but don't let that stop you from ripping me a new one if I've asked a dumb question )

That raises a question I've wondered about: Why can, through some avenues, phones be billed to an account, but through others it can't? I buy equipment through NBO with my company's FAN, and they always ask if I want to pay with a CC or bill to my account. This is even for accessories. The Premier website will sometimes let me do it (i.e. the option is there when I check out roughly 60% of the time, and not the rest), and stores never will.

What's the difference? Just policy, my company's contract, or something else? It's never really bothered me, just one of those curiosities of Cingular...

I honestly haven't seen any policies stating that we can't bill to account from store (disclaimer: there probably is one, just haven't seen it.) I do believe it is done this way, for one, commissions. Second, when we bill to account, we need to ship to billing address (one reason why I believe it is policy in store, but I don't understand why ERP's can't be bill to mobile/account, as nothing is being made off of it and I have to show my Cingular ID.)
