Hello everyone
So I was trying to set up my gmail account through pocket outlook but it doesn’t seem to work for me. I have a mediamax 200 add-on and have set up outlook accordingly:

use: *******@gmail.com
Pass: ***********
Account type: pop3
incoming: pop.gmail.com
outgoing: smtp.gmail.com
Domain:
Connection: media net
SSL connection: check
Outgoing requires authentication: check
Get message headers only
And get 2kb of message body

When I try to connect with these setting, the first time it seemed like it was downloading 300 messages but then the inbox was empty and then the second time it connects, logs in and then logs out.

Could someone please help me figure out how to make this work?

Also, is there a way to sync with the computers' outlook and check the internet for mail under the same account?

Thanks

Just went through the same crap a few days ago with a blackjack. I was getting messages back from april, but a test message i sent a day ago would not show up. I decided that previous email is not as important as future ones. I went through the gmail settings and set the pop access to all new mail as of now. Now im at least getting new emails. The blackberry was so much better.

Hi,
I am having a similar problem with a bizzare difference. I can get my Gmail no problem, but the next time it sends/recieves, it emptys my inbox? The messages vanish. This only happens with my Gmail account. I have another pop3 account "non-Gmail" and it behaves fine. Any Ideas? Spent better then 3 hours on the phone with Cingular data support and their final answer is it is a gmail issue? Am I missing a setting somwhere?
In: pop.gmail.com:995
Out: smtp.gmail.com:465
Connection: MediaNet
Only Display Last 8 Days
Require SSL "Check"
Outgoing requires Authentication "Check"
Get Full Copies of Messages

Any Ideas?

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the same problem.

I had the same problem with my Treo. Instead of "keep mail" or "only allow mail from X number of days", uncheck it. Dont have any restrictions on it - that worked for me.

Go to your Gmail account on your PC. Go to settings>Forwarding and POP> then enable POP. That should do it. I had the same problem and this fixed it

You need to put recent:username@gmail.com and that will keep the mail current and insync with what is on the server
