so i'm with t-mobile at the moment, and it's getting around the time where i need to decide what to do with the next 2 years of my life.

i'm really interested in this 3G stuff that cingy has, however it boggles me to find out that i would ahve to pay nearly $100 a month to be able to tether my phone to my laptop with data unlimited, and use the internet on the phone (again with data unlimited) when i can pay about 60-80ish on t-mo for the same.

i guess my question is is it really worth it? i'm not somebody who's DESPARATELY in need of the HSPDA or UMTS speeds, yea they would be nice but i've been getting along just fine with t-mobile's 3g network (or lack thereof). is the coverage and service any better? i'm curious about all this and all the information i've searched for here and on cingy's site confused me... lol-

i read on cingy.com that to tether without being charged for usage, you need to have a 40 a month voice plan PLUS the 60 a month laptop connect... am i mistaken?

well, a 39.99 voice plan, and a 39.99 unlimited data plan would make $80... IIRC the laptop connect is for the PC cards, isn't it?

don't they charge you for tethering on the unlimited data package?

i'm tethering with no extra charge. I "assume" they don't have an extra tether charge like verizon has.

How much do you guys tether a month approx.?

i was planning on being cheap and using cingular as my ISP... and not have to pay the extra 20-30 a month for DSL...

Hehe...Well, I think that's a bit unrealistic. If you tether GB's worth (especially large downloads), Cingular will likely notice and say wait a minute...lol

yea i'm sure they would the rate i download music and other things... lol

anyone got any likes or dislikes with the 3G network?

EDIT: i'm considering the 8525, but cringing at the price tag...
