Review: GizmoSkin 8100 Lambskin Pouch

I posted this on another forum and thought some people over here would enjoy this review as well.

Saturday I received my GizmoSkin leather pouch for the Pearl. I won't bore you with the specs as you can read them here:

I am very impressed. It is very sleek and slim, yet provides just enough protection. The fit is absolutely perfect. It is still a bit snug and my only concern is how the trackball will hold up coming in/out of the pouch over time. Of course that remains to be seen with any pouch of this style. This is my first BlackBerry and I have always had Nokia candy bar style phones along with a leather case. I am tempted to get a screen protector to go along with the pouch as I anticipate the display incurring some small scratches. Right now I am going to hold off as the felt lining seems to protect very well. Of course the inside felt lining will eventually get dirty and most likely create scratches as well.

I give this product a 9.5 out of 10 rating. The only drawback being the $39.95 price. The folks at GizmoSkin definitely cater to the premium accessory market and that is what I got. I searched a long time reviewing cases, skins etc. before I even got my phone. This was the right case for me. The folks in Toronto have done well. I ordered the case last weekend. It shipped on Tuesday of this week and arrived in upstate, NY on Saturday making its way through through customs and the Thanksgiving holiday.

I've had my Pearl since the third week afer it was released and have used one of these pouches for a couple months now. There doesn't seem to be effect on the trackball. And if you keep the Pearl clean there shouldn't be an issue with dirt contaminating the inner felt.

Good to know. I have been doing the same. Using compressed air ever couple days on the phone and in the case.
