How to transfer windows audio files to 9300?

I tried to transfer my complete library to my 9300; however the only files recognized by the device were the mp3 file types. None of the window audio type files could be read by the dedvice. Can anyone give me the directions and converting a selected amount of files from windows format to mp3. It would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
