Hey All,

I recently received a new Cingular 2125 from warranty exchange. I am having a ton of trouble trying to transfer my contacts from the old 2125 to the new one. I tried activesync, but when I sync, nothing comes up in outlook. The only method i have found successful is to beam each contact, which is extremely tedious with over 600 contacts!

can anyone help me or refer me to software which can do this? I have all the necessary cables and activesync software, in case thats needed. Thanks again!

p.s.- the contacts are stored on the phone and not the sim

There is ONE other way - you COULD sign up for a trial account with www.4smartphone.net and sync all your contacts to their server, THEN apply all the settings in your new phone and have IT sync with their server and then all your contacts should be on the new phone.....

make sure that the contacts option is set in outlook. for some reason, the first time you try to sync it takes away the contact option by default. After a connection is made and is done sync'ing, go to tools -> options and click on contacts. That should do it for you.

take it to a store and they have a little machine that will plug the two phones in and transfer numbers from one phone to another. Ive done that plenty of times for no charge.

okay, i was in the exact same boat... obviously activesync sucks donkey balls and wouldn't perform this one simple task (among other things it won't do worth a damn)... anyway, having it installed was necessary to use this tool http://www.jeyo.com/companion.asp which allowed me to export from my old handset to a file, which i could then import to my new handset ... done and done.

i think the download is a 15-day trial... good luck
