I have searched for hours

and can't find the info I need to change the startup and shut down screens for my I450. It was a boost phone I have unlocked it for nextel and would like to remove/change the boost startup and shut down screens to something else. maybe dirrect me to where I can find some cool images to use
I know this can be done,I've seen it done but don't know how to do it please help me somebody

i posted this in another thread, but it seems suited for this thread too. you need the latest webjal, 4 or 5. you also need animated wallpapers that are sized for your phone.

these are the instructions for doing it to the older phones i730,i830 etc. try it at your own risk..just rename them like the corresponding list and then send to phone like you would any other wallpaper

carrier_img.gif - replaces the Nextel image during power up

java_img.gif - replaces java image during power up

text_img.gif - replaces the t9 text image during power up

pwrdown_img.gif - replaces nextel done during powerdown

as far as i know, webjal only works on iden phones. what is a MPT4?

Wow... a 2 yr old thread!!!

IIRC, the picture shows up under the wallpaper list. You can delete it from there. However, when you copy the new picture over, it will erase the original. You would need the original images to copy back to the phone.

I have webjal installed, I can create my own ringers using Adobe Audition 3.0, I can create, edit, resize and load wallpapers. Using irfanview and Gimp.

I can even resize animated gifs using irfanview and unfreez.

The only thing I have been unable to do so far is replace my start ups!!!

I have 3 i850's, I can get animated gifs loaded to the phone, but the DONT replace my chosen image! I have tried for example loading it as

pwrdown_img and as pwrdown_img.gif

it will show up in my wallpapers list but it does not change my original powerdown even after shutting my phone off and turning it back on.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I also HAVE researched thi for over 2 hours before I asked.

I know that I have these animations in the right size and format for my phone, so I don't know WHAT the trouble is.
