I beleive the latest version of katana allows tranferring of wallpaper and photoes to PC. However, where does one find the usb driver for katana to connect with bitpim or is bluetooth required? I have the cable but it only cam ewith generic ssanyo drivers which does not work with katana.

Datapilot's Sanyo drivers will work. Got to the DataPilot Suppot Center, click on the "Downloads" link and download the "Motorola/Sanyo Phone Driver". You might need to figure out how to remove the generic Sanyo driver first. There might be something elsewhere on the Datapilot site to help do this.

Drivers from Data Pilot work great on Bitpim. Thanks Sawpcs

i downloaded both and it still won't detect my katana!?!?!?! my pcs picturemail account won't work for me online so i just want to save the pix from my phone. i'm not worried about ringtones/wallpapers. Can anyone give me a heads up on any info?

A copy of the driver? Apparently, the DataPilot Support Centre wants a S/N to access their downloads now. While I'd like to be able to have my 'phone talk to my laptop (I got used to having a Treo...) there are easier ways to do the job than spend $70 with them.

Mainly, I just want to be able to edit my phonebook and download any pix I might happen to take - nothing fancy, but that little 12-key keypad is a bit difficult to manage with my stubby fingers, y'know (the best phone I ever had was my old "drunk phone" - the buttons were two and a half inches across! Nice...)

Anyone? The link given above for the Datapilot support centre says "not available" (in-house page, not a 404 error,) and getting there "the hard way" isn't any help at all - looks like they've restructured.

My cable (from eBay) came in to-day - while it's nice to eliminate a wall wart (since it can also charge through USB,) I'd like to be able to use it for a bit more - as I said, editing the phone book and downloading any snaps I might happen to take are all I'd really want to do - anything more gets done with the NZ90.

If you've a copy, I'd appreciate one - email to dragonland2001 AT yahoo DOT com, with the subject line "phone driver" - and I'd see if I can't find some way to express my appreciation...

I also bought a data cable from Ebay recently. I downloaded their drivers and recommended software. The phone is not recognized. Does anyone have the information on free drivers for the Katana II? This should not be this difficult.

I have the same exact problem...bought it from ebay, downloaded the stuff, hooked up my Katana II, and BitPim doesn't recognize it.

bitpim drivers for the II/6650 should be out in another month or so. I tried using the 6600 driver, or some such. But the real problem, at least on my machine, is that the phone couldn't find an open port.

Going through the usual hoo-haw to set up com 3 didn't do it. bitpim said the port was already in use. I couldn't get past that.

I finally got BitPim to recognize my Katana II. I acquired the drivers by downloading Sprint Connection Manager.

Anyway, my main goal was to get ringtones from my PC to my Katana II, but BitPim only allows you to edit your Phone Book and Calendar.

My problem is worse! I keep trying the link to download the drivers from datapilot, the same one everyone else uses, but it won't work! I think it might have to do with my computer's firewall settings, but is there anyway that anyone with the drivers could possibly e-mail the file to me? Please!?

By the way, I have a Sanyo SCP-6600 (Katana I)

I have the drivers from the "Sprint Connection Manager" but that doesn't work with my Katana. Even Bitpim says in the help section that I need the drivers for datapilot, but I can't get them to download in the first place.

If anyone would e-mail them to me, i'd be forever grateful. my e-mail is whitestripes4eva(at)yahoo(dot)com.

Thanks!
Kat
