"Why my purchase of an 8525/Blackjack/PDAphone was worth it" thread

I'll start with a brief history. I had an 8125 prior to my 8525. It was a good device - loved WM5 (I had always been a PPC person) but the EDGE speeds really killed the wireless experience for me. I would try to surf different sites, such as restaurants to find their menus but the process would just take so long.

Now with the 8525 and the faster processor + the 3G radio, its a wholly different scenario. Now, when I want to find out some info, I don't hesitate to pull out my trusty phone to find out the info I need from the 'net. I'm out of town on business a lot, which means going to cities that I am completely unfamiliar with. I got some suggestions for good restuarants from the bartender at my hotel and my coworkers and I discussed where we should go. I pulled out my 8525 and found the website (graphic intensive might I add?) and found the menu. We found the place to go eat for the night! Besides that, I was delayed for 2 hours this morning for my flight. After I got tired of conversation, I pulled the 8525 out again and checked my email (getting notifications of packages that had shipped, I love getting packages in the mail ), definitely browsed HoFo and some other forums, and checked on my news and RSS feeds. Between all of that and a couple of phone calls/txt msgs to friends/family, I heard the "please turn off and put away all electronic devices" announcement before I knew it!

Now, all of that was just ONE day. And that's not even it, I'm currently tethered to my 8525 since the hotel Wifi connection is so weak in my room (I'll be calling the Front Desk about this tonight before I go to bed). But I'm not doing anything extraordinary, nor am I visiting any websites I wouldn't on my actual 8525 so I'm not using anymore data than I would if I wasn't tethering

Now your turn - why was your PDAphone worth whatever price you paid for it?

I upgraded from the 8125, which i only had for 2 weeks. I only bought this phone because this phone looks much better than the 8125 I mainly use this phone for calls and text messaging

I've been using PPCs since 1999. (And before that "Palm" devices.) I've had many devices but my recent aquisition has to be my favorite. It's worth every penny I paid for it and then some.

My HP iPaq hw6945 is obvioulsy used for phone calls and text messaging but also to browse the web, RSS, news, etc., but also keeps me ogranized, on time and with it's built-in GPS (which has gotten me out of some sticky stituations recently) I'm never lost no matter where I go. Gotta love on demand driving, hiking, walking, biking directions in the palm of your hand with no need to drag a seperate GPS reciever with you.

I love listening to my audiobooks, daily podcasts, daily audio version of the NYT and WSJ on it. I love reading ebooks on it. I love watching my movies and tv shows on it. I love streaming radio and video on it. The uses are infinite. I am absolutely pleased with my PPC of choice.
