First thanks to "gutter" for the original post on this vendor and their S620/Dash related accessories.

I ordered and received the following desktop cradle/charger. It took about 5 days (inc. a holiday) after the initial order to receive it.

http://www.igonemobile.com/products/html/60414334.html

It is made in China and well constructed, at least on the surface. Compared to other after market cradles I've purchased in the past, this one is one of the better ones. The usb cord in hard-wired to the base, and there is an addtional usb mini charger (@ 40" long) that can be plugged into a port at the rear of the cradle to give you charging capability when the unit is not tethered to a live usb connection.

You do need to remove the useless rubber usb port cover on the base of the device before you can connect to the cradle. Since mine fell off on day two, that was not an issue for me. The male end of the connection in the cradle lined up well with the unit. It takes no undue pressure to insert the device and once it is in the cradle, it fits securely. The cradle is not tippsy at all, and has a small back support built in to the body that help support the device. There is also a small blue LED light that lights up to indicate and active connection.

Only time will tell if this will hold up to daily use, but I believe it will.

As gutter pointed out in his post, there is also another model that will allow simultaneous charging of an extra battery, but is not in stock yet.

thanks for a nice summary john. if you would rate it out of 10, what would you rate the cradle?

Posted by: john1027

Based on the price, quality of the build, and functions, at this point I would give it a qualified 10 as it apparently does everything as advertised. While it is not up to the higher quality standards that you might find in an oem cradle for a device like the Treo, this one is half that price and at least so far (4 hours worth) is working as expected. I've been able to steady the base with one hand and munipulate the keys with no problem with the other without having to take it out of the cradle. The base where the bottom row of keys on the device sits is scooped out a little that enables you to also get at the bottom row of keys while it is in the device. I'd say that apprently someone gave this design a little forethought. I reserve the right to change my rating should this burn up tomorrow!!!

john: glad you are enjoying it, I am going to wait for the other model to come out with the additional battery slot.

I also emailed seidioonline.com about an extended battery and

"Thank you for you interest in Seidio products. You inquiry had
forwarded to R&D department for further develop decision.

Thank you for contacting Seidio Inc."

So hopefully we will see an extended battery from them soon, but I am not holding my breath.

It's been almost 2 weeks, have you had problems with the cradle?

thanks

No problems at this point.

Hi John.
Is the Dash pretty snug/stable inside the cradle? I am considering using it as a car kit/GPS solution by mounting it on top of the streeing column. My concern is whether it is going to fall out or not when I drive over a bump.

Thanks

At least on the model I got, it is very snug. If you just grasp the device, you can lift up the cradle and it will not fall off. I would hope they all come that way.
