Didn't mean to ask anything about usability, I am sure this one don't work here. BUT guess what I got this for free so I have no complaint about it. All I want to know is if there is any special function that I can use for this phone (other than making calls). This phone is kind of old but when I compare it to my 902sh.... that makes me mad. All because of the design and menu and bunch of other stuff. I wonder why would sharp make worse phones for voda than they made for FOMA before, becasue even when I compare the 901is to my 903 the 903's design and functions were not as elite as the 901is.... anyways I will post some of the pictures later

it was released mid-2005 i think. its not that old. my 703shf is getting outdated but its rare here so that doesnt matter as much.

I know but my 902sh is out at around the same time, at that time they already have the 3.2 mega camera, a better screen and alot more.....

Heh. This phone is actually the one I originally wanted to buy (together with D902i/D902iS) - hatsubai day was June 3rd, 2005. The bad thing is that it doesn't even have roaming (the usual FOMA models got it only when the P902iS and N902iS came out, with the newest x903i- series having 3G roaming in every model; except 1-Seg and H-SDPA models, of course).

Not a bad phone and getting it free is even better. Have fun with it, but remember that it won't be a phone in here .

The UI is usually a bit more elegant to the user with DoCoMo, but that depends. The Vodafone K.K./SoftBank Mobile Sharp models usually had a bit "duller" UI, but that changed a bit with the newer UI system, which I think is not bad any more. But that's just my opinion.

There`s no point in discussion about Sharp FOMA vs Vodafone/Softbank designs. FOMA models are beautiful (most of them), Vodafone are just... elegant. I would die to have GSM version of FOMA SH902i but that`s just a dream. Or P900iV, one of the most amazing mobile phone designs ever made and worst deal Panasonic ever made (by not doing GSM version).

UncleAllEvil, I agree. The UI style is completely different. SoftBank wanted it to be official-like and NTT DoCoMo had a habit of giving its users/makers a bit more freedom. But technically majority of the FOMA models didn't have as much processing power as the SoftBank equivalents (haven't looked at the x903i series yet, though). So FOMA means more style and Softbank on the other hand is a bit more like high-end player on the Japanese market - with AU being only after the looks.
