It uses outlook.

Is it a pull or push system?

And from reading their site it's free. Unless I missed something.

As you can see I'm very new to this and need lots of help.

It uses micro$ofts direct push

It is a free service for basic functionality.
-mail2web email
-contacts
-calander
-Outlook Web Access

I am pretty sure if you wanted you can pay a premium and also your desktop outlook.

I do want something free.

Right now I'm having a problem getting my email to work. I use gmail and it will down load it alright, but the next time it connects the emails in my 8525 inbox disappear. I was wonder in mail2web would work better or will the samething happen? Or maybe someone knows why emails are disapearing?

I am about to sign up, do you think it is worth the $1.99 a month for the Personal account over the free one?

Posted by: cjmedina

the free one works highly doubt your getting more of value for 1.99

Posted by: stepchild

How do you set it up?

Posted by: cjmedina

here try this
click start, programs, hit active sync(green circle) hit menu then add server. you will see server address type in mobile.exchange.mail2web.com make sure the box is checked, hit next, here you enter you name you got from mail2eb. example mine is *********@mail2web.com make sure you put the mail2web after your name, then enter your passcode
domain : ad2 (just like that) next click what you want sync then finish and your done should start syncing by itself

cjmedina,

I followed your instructions and it is working very well. I sent a test email and it got to my mobile almost instantly.

Now I have a few more questions:

1. How does it know when to sync? Is mail2web sending sms msgs. Just not sure and don't want a big bill.

2. I'm only doing email, but would like to know how you can sync contacts and calendar items. Not sure how mail2web gets that info.

Thanks for your help.

it syncs via a http stream and checks every so often, so in short if you have unlimted data dont work about it, all sent an recived messages thru outlook are counted as data not text, as for the contacts and calendars items they get it from the last option you choose what you want synced, if you want to take it off just follow the steps and uncheck what you dont want synced, when i got my vario after selling my 8125 i just synced it and all my contacts and emails addys where there, no hassle

cjmedina,

I tried syncing my contacts and it worked just fine. It looks like it just takes them off your mobile. So I guess if you add a new contact on your desk top and then sync to mobile it will add it to mail2web. At least that is what is seems to be doing.

Anyway it seems to be working just fine.

Thanks for all your help.
