Help! 8125 no longer connecting to internet

I had been using the internet fine until a few days ago when I started getting the following message when trying to use internet explorer, "No modem at above number. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings." I am using my old unlimited access data plan I purchased with my Motorola MPX.
I have a meeting until late tonight, but any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated.

try this settings, connections, manage my settings then modem, make sure its set to media net or my isp. its probably set to auto and its causing that error

I tried this, but there was still no access with the same message coming up. Are there any other suggestions.
