Hello. I have a Razr V3 black that I purchased OEM from Tigerdirect.com. I had been using the stock firmware / flex until the phone started randomly dropping calls. After flashing the firmware, the phone continues to have the exact problem that provoked me to flash the phone. When it drops calls, the screen flashes once then displays a screen that says the call is still connected then it flashes again and shows the wallpaper. Other than that, I have had very little problems. One other thing to note is that I have not experienced problems with the phone dropping calls while using my bluetooth headset. I use a Scala 500 currently. I did not incorrectly flash the firmware or flex as I have done it on several other Motorola phones without incident.

I understand that many V3 phones were recalled for what I believe is a similar problem. What I have not been able to determine is weather this is the same problem or not. I called MOTO support and apparently my phone was manufactured in Singapore so they will not support the phone. It came with a three month warranty from Tigerdirect but the problem started about a week after the three months.

If anyone knows if this sounds like the problem that caused the earlier recall, please let me know. I am an ECET major and a network technician so I have a lot of experience with electronics. I am perfectly capable of soldering or tweaking components if that is all that is involved in fixing the phone. Please let me know if that is the case.

After reading some other forums, I believe that the problem may be with the switch that tells the phone if the flip is open or not. Does anyone know if that switch can be replaced or what is involved in doing that? As stated above, I have electronics knowledge and am not afraid to break the phone because it is already so annoying.

I am trying to order some broken phones off of Ebay so I can use them for parts if the switch can be replaced. Please let me know if anyone has done this. Thanks!
