One reason why I hate OPUS

Tonight I did a port from Nextel to an add a line on a Family Talk plan with a Blackjack with PDA Max. The port went through ok but when I got to the last screen I got the dreaded activation failed message. The reason the activation failed had something to do with the dates of the unlimited promo not matching with something.

So, I call the port group and this very helpful rep tried to help me fix the problem. She ended up having to call 3 other people over and no one could figure it out. Before we were able to solve the problem, she accidentally hung up on me. So, I call back. Talked to another helpful rep and she ran into the same problems. She logged out and logged back in and somehow the line was active. Problem solved. How? No idea.

OPUS caused me another 2 hours (1.5 of it after we closed) of headaches. So I got to thinking, what crazy problems have you guys ran into? It's not limited to OPUS either...Telegence, Care, Siebel, etc. are all fair game.

I have seen many strange issue with telegence and features. One I have seen is when adding a line to a FT that and future dating a rate plan, "one line has already used 5 min or more of bonus minutes". You literally have to remove all data features from the account, refresh the screen, and then go back in add the line to the group and finally goto each line and add the data back to each line. It's a pain and took me 20 min the first time to figure out what I had to do. I refuse to file any tickets unless I exhaust all my trouble shooting, even if I have to take a segment to work on it.

What it sounds like in your case, was an error like, unable to add mms as dates do not match data service dates or something to that affect. It's an easy fix, well not any easy fix, as you have to do the same thing I mentioned above. Take the data off of all the lines, an then add the line to the group. Next go to each line and add whatever data feature they should have on them.

It has something to do with the future rate plan and the data feature.

...is that the same friggin lady with short hair is on the front screen!!! Couldn't they change that with one of their updates or something? Haha. That would be funny to see...

OPUS UPDATES 11.2

-FIX CRAPPY PORT PROCESS
-FIX ADDING FEATURES PROBLEM
-CHANGE PICTURE OF SHORT HAIRED LADY LAUGHING TO SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE MORE DESIREABLE TO LOOK AT
-PUT HOFO IN QUICK LINKS
-AS ANYONE ACTUALLY READING THIS EMAIL ANYMORE?
-SERIOUSLY?

I love when you click on opus in the task bar on windows and it just disappears into thin air, locking up your inventory that you were using for that particular sale, AFTER you've already activated

oh, and now the last 10 customers drop box does not show, I use that ALL the time.

I've noticed when you have to port a number the best thing to do is add a feature after the last screen, when the css is printed, add the feature a new css is formed viola

But isn't the line suspended at that point? You can't add features when the line is suspended can you?

You can if you unsuspend with the customer's ok to do so and go over the T&C's 2 yr, 36 acct fee, etc etc

I've learned that it's usually best to not add any features on while doing an activation. I got cocky with that port by adding the features during the activation and OPUS put me back in my place.

Another huge issue we had in the fall was that none of the reps in our market could activate under the NBI market. Since all new commerical accounts are automatically under the NBI market, we were unable to activate any commercial customers.

That sucked. I was on the phone for 4 hours with OPUS care, business care, activations, and had to send many emails to our retail support team before they figured it out. It's no fun when you have to tell a small business customer who wants Blackberries that we may not be able to activate their account.

i did six new adds yesterday all six failed at the end, i had to get a rep that had telegence to finish each one, i feel like i was on such a roll yesterday i could have done more but it gets so flustrating spending an extra hour with each customer because my system does not work.

doesnt it suck when you run the credit app and start the process; then you realize that it is a port and have to do the whoooole thing over again haha..

I love the red errors. Its OPUS way of flipping you off.

"Oh you think your going to add a feature?! NOPE! *insert red error*"

"Oh you want to activate that line? go ahead click "activate". C'mon, do it, do it.. DO IT! *insert red error* MWAHAHAHAHA!"

Grrrrrrrrrr......

Worse than just the red error, is the red error with the kick out.

"Click Activate.. please do it.. click it you silly little rep. CLICK *insert red error, and kick to home screen*. Oh you fall for it everytime. You never learn rep, do you? Now start over so I can do it again."

Everytime it does it I think of Lucy pulling the ball out from Charlie Brown when he goes to kick it.

OPUS TAUNTS ME!
