Hello,
I've been using the P800 w/ R1D and Bluespoon Panther for a few weeks now, and I wanted to give an update to those who have been considering purchasing one.
In short, this phone (and this combination) are awe-inspiring. The RF on this phone is incomparable - better than any other phone I've used (T28w, Nokia 8890, Motorola T720i, and the deplorable T68m). In fact, SE have redeemed themselves after turning me off to their products with the T68m, which was at the time the ultimate phone for features and a doorstop when actually making calls.
I carry on conversations without a hiccup in the elevator of my office building, travelling from Midtown to downtown Manhattan in a cab, and even through the entire length of the Park Avenue tunnel in the upper 30's (no other phone, not even FM radio, works there!).
In my experience, the Bluespoon works like an extension of this phone. A couple of nights ago, I was researching something on the web with a friend, and we talked via cellphone while we guided each other to sites. He used his Nokia 7210 on speakerphone for handsfree, and used my Bluespoon - for 2.5 hours, and that's after having used it a few times during the day, with no charge from morning to evening. Cooler still: when the Bluespoon started warning of low battery, I just switched to the P800 speakerphone. In a noisy room, the volume is a bit too low to be audible, but in a quiet room, it worked flawlessly.
My only wishes now are to switch to an internet plan with Tmobile (from my current Tzones Pro) to use Opera with real websites for access to Ebay (the wap site never works) and Moviefone (wap site doesn't let you order tickets). In addition, I'd like to see Tmobile offer some competitive international dialing plans, which would allow me to give up my local dial service completely. they don't need to be as cheap as Verizon (14 cents to Greece), but I'd like to see 20-25 cents before I switch.

Is the speakerphone really quiet? I use this all the time on my 7210, even in the car, and its loud enough. So since your friend has a 7210 maybe you have tried it, but is the p800 comparable to this? Thanks!

That's wonderful news Jellyguy how the Bluespoon and the P800 are working together.
I'm presently waiting for everything... SEs release of the P800 I ordered and the one thing I thought I'd have by now, a Panther!
Well the wait continues since Nextlink is about to release their Digital version of Bluespoon (I hope they offer a Panther version right off the bat) and now I can't find myself ordering the current version of the Bluespoon.
We're all waiting for a report from Jan and the premier of the Digital Bluespoon at the Cebit convention (I think it's this next week) to see what this new little baby looks like. There's no news of availablity or price yet. So as I started/stated, I'm wait and waiting... and

Hi jfandem,
The 7210 speakerphone is louder than the P800, I'd say quite a bit louder.
