Did anyone get Pearls yet?

Sales ops said they would be in store and available to sell TODAY!

as normal, haven't seen them yet....
Anyone else's store have them already? I have a ton of customers waiting on them

Really because all the "smart customers" say it was supposed to be released this week. I love those guys who liike to try to tell me when something comes out, I like to say I'll believe it when UPS delivers it

not yet, but texas is covered in an ice storm (thats right, the big TX is icing over) so we expect slow traffic and late deliveries. Besides we got the black jack three days after it dropped, and the 8525 the day after.

Dude it's 70 degrees in Boston

On a side note anyone else think the pearl may bomb? The only reason I ask is because most big companies don't want people to have camera phones, and since the Pearl is primarily a business device I think some people won't be able to have them at work

also i think it might because of the keyboard. its the reason we dont sell many 7130's. people like the size but most arent willing to sacrifice the keyboard. As far as I know, RIM said that it is going in the "style and entertainment" area of the store, not the business. Its to try to make the Blackberry common and cool, not just a bus. phone, so i guess they are trying a new appraoch. Good Luck BB.

Pearl is more marketed toward the regular consumer who can have a camera and all that stuff. Its going to be mainly competing with the sidekick and treo which already have those features. I think that it will do well in the consumer market if it is priced well. Since it has the cheapest data pakcage for consumers (BIS), that will help it sell. I know a lot of people who want to get a BB but get turned off due to the lacking of the camera. Also seeing the size of the Pearl will help selling since a lot of people do not want to be lugging around a big PDA phone. I sell more 8700s than 7130s and I have big corporate offices around me which makes me conclude that most of these big corp. do not like sure type at all since all of them say no once they see the keyboard. Peronsally I'm waiting for the 8800 to come out

See I knew it. I got into it with a "smart customer" again telling me when the pearl is being released Fri, I love it when they tell me a release date I always say "I'll believe it when UPS delivers them". I really hate the internet sometimes

If a company doesn't want the camera, AFAIK they can disable it before the employee gets it.

The camera can be disabled via the security policy and BES provisioning.

I got ours too!!

Its a very nice phone!! The ear piece quality has gone down a little bit though and it does seem a little slower with regards to browsing compared to the 8700/7130. Man if this phone only had 3g!!

We got the pearl on the 1st, and sold out the same day.....now what about those 8525's???.....its like the playstation 3 of phones, we get 10 calls a day from people asking when we are getting them in..

lol i love BES its so intrusive i wanna get a pearl cuz ive had an 8700 i dont care about qwerty i want a smartphone that actually is stable "Windows Mobile" is a joke sometimes its great but crap for actually working unless they get faster processors and by the time they do microsoft will come out with a more power hungry os. so u know windows mobile will never be as fast as a blackberry

Rumor has it that the RIM 8710 will be 3G. Dont know if Cingular is getting it.
