Razr v3i- couple questions

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just got a new razr v31 and have a couple questions. (I tried asking one in the v3i superthread but the question got lost after a couple giant posts abotu the phone in general.

One, I have a few songs that I bought from iTunes for my iPod. They are in the playlist I added to my phone, but the phone won't play them. It shows the title, cover art, etc but after a second or two it skips by to the next song. What do I do to fix this?

Two- is there a way to get the text message tone to not be the same as the special ringer IDs set for people in my phone book? It's a pain hearing the ring tone when I get a text cause I think it's an actual phone call instead of just a text. I'd like to have a "generic" text tone instead of the certain ring tones. Any ideas?

Thanks

itunes has some kind of weird mp3 encryption (well, because it's apple and they're retarded) try running those songs through a converter and try them on your phone again. I ran into the same problem when I bought some songs off of itunes (something I almost never do) and I couldn't BURN them or play them on my phone.

OK, that's what I thought I would have to do. I'll have to burn them onto a CD and then upload them from the CD to the computer again- it worked when I treid using bought songs when I was making videos and slide shows.

you can change the tones for messages as well as a bunch of other tone settings in Menu> Settings> Ring Styles> {Style} Detail

Raulr, I tried that. The ringer ID plays instead fo the selected text tone.

the bitrates on these songs are too high. the max bitrate that moto phones can handle is 192kbps

This is just a moto thing you're gonna have to live with. Right now, theres nothing you can do about it without completely deleting the ringer id or doing a bunch of seem edits.

in response to bitrate too high:

you can tell itunes to adjust the bitrate of songs going to your cell:

[in itunes]
click on your cell's playlist
go to the setting's tab in that playlist
put a checkmark on "convert higher bitrate songs... yaddahyaddah"

peace,

MIkesterr,
How would I go about doing the seem edits?

This is really getting aggrivating. I'm either stuck dealing with that, or turning off the ringer ID's and having to deal with answering the phone when I don't want to. Both are really annoying, especially at work. I'm in charge so it's no big deal that I'm using my phone but I'd rather be doing stuff with the kids unless there's an important call.

OK, I went in and chenged the bitrate settings in the playlist, snyced the phone and the songs still won't play. Did I miss something?

New question- is there a way to remove the 50 song limit on the microSD card? I have a 1g (and a 2g card is on the way) but it doesn't make much sense to have the big cards if only 20% of the 1g can hold songs- I'm not taking 1000+ pictures anytime soon.

Honestly, I've never done a seem edit before in my life! LOL. But you can find the info on this forum. http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=962080
Good luck!

Motorola just answered my support request saying that the problem with the text message sound is an uncommon one and I should do a master reset to fix it. How can that be if everyone says it's a problem with their phone?

I got the songs to work- I had to put them on a CD then upload them from the CD back into my iTunes.

Now about this seem edit thing- the link given doesn't really explain what I need to do and I can't firn a thread with the steps to make the seem for the v3i. Any ideas? Thanks
