Hello!
Finally I got my sharp 703shf but I dont know if my unit is defective

Ok I received, open it, installed my SIM card and then the battery. I pushed the ON/OFF power button, the screen show something in japanese then it turns off. Ok I said may be its because the battery is drained. I pluged it to the charger, the little red light turns ON for 5 seconds and after it turns OFF . I tried to turn the phone ON but nothing happened (pluged to the charger) so I left like 20 min to see if something happens, but NOTHING!! I cant turn ON the phone, the red light indicating that the phone is charging doesnt turn ON!! I have to remove the battery install it again, and then plug in to the charger again to see that the Red light turns on for like 5 seconds!!

My unit is defective or am I doing something wrong?

I will apreciate your help, and I hope you could understand me

Ok, my phone doesnt work!!
DO you think is the charger or the battery that is not working?? Somebody told me that the Panasonic chargers are the same as the Sharp so may be I should try it.....

If anybody knows something I would apreciate!!

Im including an image of the japanese words (if anybody knows japanese) that appears on the phone...it shows that and then the phone turns OFF.

THank you.

That says "please wait". It occurs when it checks for the SIM card. Try charging the battery outside the phone and then using it. If it works, then the problem lies with the charger (or the charging circuit in the phone) and if it doesn't, then the problem lies in the battery (or the phone's firmware).

Well, where I live, some shops sell "universal chargers" that clip directly to the battery to charge it. Problem is that it charges somewhat slowly (takes about 4 hours to fully charge my W21SA's battery- yes, it doesn't make phone calls, it caught my eye and it was only $10 so I took it) because it has to handle all types of batteries to avoid overcharging. But, it looks like a flashing error for your phone so that wouldn't help.
