I recently purchased a V3 (standard basic model). I have tried charging via supplied charger and USB. Both when plugged into the V3 causes it to beep. After waiting at least 1 minute, I have checked both the external and internal displays and there is no indication that it is charging. I am hoping a V3 owner can tell me if there is anything on the display to denote the phone is charging?
The battery that came with the phone had two bars. After charging it for 2 hours it is still at two bars so I suspect the phone isn't charging.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It will give audible recognition when it is initially plugged up, it should say charging across the screen, and the battery life icon should flash/move.

Thanks for the help. I suspected that was what should happen. I guess this phone is going back.

MY mom let her V3 battery run totaly empty . Today she called me and told me it would not charge. When I got home the message on the screen was that the phone is "unable to charge". She already tried both hers and mine chargers. My solution was to open the battery door, take it out for a moment then put it back in. The phone cahhrged afterwards without any problems. Not sure why I took out the battery (a hunch I guess) but it appears to have fixed the issue.

try this
Turn the phone off
Take the battery out
Hook the charger up to the phone
It'll say "Unable to Charge"
Now slide in the battery while the phone is still on saying "Unable to Charge"
It should now start charging
Let the battery fully charge without turning the phone on

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had just recieved the phone and was planning to give it someone for Christmas. Since there was no time on the call counters at all, I sent it back requesting another phone.
Again thanks for the suggestions!

check if the battery terminals are dirty, try cleaning them off with a pencil erasor and try cleaning the terminals inside the phone too, this too happened to myself and I just cleaned it off and it worked fine ever since, I had some crud and crap on the battery and it was hard to tell unless i looked closely.
