New Samsung Blackjack FAQs not encouraging.

Samsung has quite a few FAQs for the Blackjack up now and they're not encouraging.

For example, the list of FAQs for Bluetooth mentions several things that have come up here at Hofo as limitations (multiple headset pairing, etc) and Samsung basically says "not supported" for much of it (including voice dialing over BT).

what mobile allows you to pair multiple headsets simultaneously?

the e62 lets you pair up to more than 1 device. like a headset at the same time as a computer or gps.

uh guys? simultaneously means at the same time. You can have profiles for many headsets but you can't use more than one at once. Or do you have super powers?

Posted by: gregh2000

like i said more than 1 device, i think up to 5. 1 headset, 1 gps, 1 computer all at the same time, but still only 1 headset.

edit: technically you can have a bunch of headsets "paired" with the e62, but only 1 active at any given time, however it still does support multiple devices but not 2 of the same, lol.

Hmm. It says in the FAQ they support bluetooth DUN. That's interesting. In fact, it says they support a lot of stuff that nobody seems to be able to get working.

On some websites even Samsungs, it says it has WiFi.

Go figure.

This is inexcusable and I'm SO GLAD I didn't pick up the Blackjack now, my 3125 seems worlds better (3G not important to me)...

How Do I Use Voice Dialing On My BlackJack (SGH-i607) When Using A Bluetooth Headset?

While the BlackJack (SGH-i607) handset does feature a voice recorder, the handset does not have any configurable options for voice dialing with or without a Bluetooth headset.

Vito Voice dialer gives you voice dialing options (probably not over BT though)

I'm using the Jabra BT 620 stereo headset with hands free and music at the same time working just fine

Yes, that's one device.

Some people need multiple devices simultaneously paired.

Voice dialing from the headset for apps like VC would also be nice, or the ability to use advanced BT features in newer cars and GPs's (phonebook transfers, callerid info, etc). Basically Samsung indicates none of these features are going to work (specifically headset dialing and callerid over BT).

I have been able to successfully run bluetooth activesync and use my Moto H3 headset without an issue at all.

Will it run more then one headset at the same time?
NO

Will it pair more then one headset?
YES.
I have 2 headsets the other being a plantronics one. Provided you don't attempt to use both at the same time.

Will it simultaneous connect to a BT headset and another BT device?
YES.
As long as the other device IS NOT another headset.

I hope this helps decrease some of the confusion as to what the BlackJack can and cannot do.

The difference is not super powers. My razr, v551, v600, 3125 could switch from one to the other without any effort on my part. I didn't have to go into bluetooth headset settings and select which device I wanted. I could go from a headset to a carkit back to another headset or carkit simply by moving from car to car or headset to headset. The blackjack forces you to select which one you will use and it can't connect on its own even when the device tries to pair. That is the difference and what I understood the problem to be. It is definitely more of a pain to have multiple devices and use them with a blackjack but well worth living with!!!
