8525 Contacts Sort By First then Last name?

I've searched google and this entire forum and I can't seem to find a way to have my contacts list by First then Last name.

Is there some kind of setting I'm not seeing or some registry hack?

You can set that option in Outlook for you Contacts on your desktop. Then, when you sync, that's how your Contacts will show up.

Yup only place I notice to change it is through Outlook directly and not on the phone..

sad thing is, i dont use outlook, i just copy from sim to my phone memory

When you do an entry, there is an arrow next to the name entry. Pull that down, and it gives you the option to enter first and last name etc. Make your entries accordingly, and it will sort by last name.

The phone comes with Outlook on disk so why not install it then you could just not setup any email and just use it for the contacts, calendar etc synch?

i'm a mac user with the same problem, so outlook isn't really an option either...and no, i'm not letting entourage anywhere near my contacts

so are we saying that the phone can't do this on its own?

Yea, no way unless you go thru each contact and update the name with the drop down feature. Good thing for outlook when I 1st synch I noticed the last name was 1st looked thru the phone and couldnt find a way to adjusted and I have 569 #'s no way was I going thru each one to adj the last name so I just changed it on outlook and re synch vola
