Hi,

Is there any way to set the 8525 so that it doesnt automaticlaly try to connect onto the network every 15min?

its annoying me b/c every 15 min my computer goes off and it drains the battery out of my phone.

I do have the unit set to chk emails eveyr 15 min or so, but it doesnt disconnect once connection is established.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there any way to make notification of incoming emails audible or vibrate? all mine does is just display on the screen but when the phone is in my pcoket im unaware of new emails.

anyone having this problem?

Yeah, without some hack it'll stay connected. My battery history life so far is 10AM 100% 5PM 20%. And this is in a location where one room gets 3G and the other GPRS which probably doesn't help.

As far as notifications: go to settings and sounds/notifications.
Then go the the Notification tab and the dropdown and look for messaging:New Email message and then you can check the options that you want.

i had this problem.... i found some Hack on XDA-developers that stoped auto connect but didnt help with auto disconnect, so i found a solution, i scraped XpressMail, and just set up a regular Outlook account to check my gmail, and check it manually every hour or so... its not for buisness purposes so i don't really need to have the email that instant so push email is not what i need...
