8400 - can you transfer your own mp3's, ringtones?

Given that the 8400 takes an SD card, I'd guess the answer is yes. Is this easy to do though? Must you use a miniSD -> SD -> USB adapter?
Furthermore, is there any way to make and use your own custom ringtones, mp3 or otherwise? Are these also easy to transfer?

very easy to transfer mp3 files ,you can make folders to seperate the types of music.toy can put 3gp movie files in the folder.i bought a 512 mb card and have converted movies from about 700 meg divx to 100 meg and watched on long trips.the best feature of all is if you push the star key the video will go full screen sideway.anyway for ease of use question. the phone comes with the cable to usb.plug the phone to pc with phone filp open and the pc will see a external drive once you pick from the selection on phone screen(answer is pick number 2).drag the files into themedia folder(inside media folder is where you can make folders like movies ,country,rock.etc).phone also comes with stereo headphones , but the speaker on the phone plays loud enough that you might put the phone on the desk next to you and play the music.but the headphones sound awesome.hope this info helps

But can you use your own mp3's as your ringtones. I heard that Sprint has zapped this so you have to buy there mp3 ringtones for an outrageous fee and they only last 90 days.
I would figure if they let you transfer mp3's to the SD and listen to them, why not allow you to use them as a ringtone also?
I am thinking about getting this phone. But I might wait for the Sanyo M1

the only content on the sd card that they allow you to useas ringers is the audio from the videos you shoot with camcorder.

You can use your own mp3s as ringtones, but they need to be uploaded to the phone's main storage using a Vision uploader.

what is the vision uploader, how much is it and what does it do besides uploading ringtones...
FYI, i tried using the Rumkin.com method to transfer files and it got on the phone in the 'Others' folder, but the phone tells me i need a 'Handler' to use the file...... ANY IDEAS?

It uploads ringtones, pictures, games, and applications.
It's free.
It can also upload pictures, games, and applications.
I'm not sure what to do about the handler problem. Sometimes I got that issue, but doing a power cycle on the phone fixed it. You might have to delete it and re-upload it.

Been using Rumkin on mine. No problems so long as you have a data plan and don't pay per mb.

a handler is a player for a file.for example for a video to play there would have to be a video player on your phone for that format, or a sound file needs a player for that format.the usually result for sprint users is a pop up on your phone with a get handler prompt.upon clicking you go to a site like "get wallpapers" which is actually a dead end cause there is no handler to get.
