Clear new message icon on Krzr

I cannot find anyway to clear the new message icon on my sprint Krzr. I have gone into all the message folders and they all say empty. Any help would be appreciated.

It is definatly not the voicemail message. The voicemail message is next to this one and has the half circles next to it.

I have the same issue with my KRZR. I took it to the Sprint store and talked to the technician about it. Apparently it is a software issue, and they are aware of it. It's happening on every Sprint KRZR phone. Until they get a software fix for it, there is nothing we can do to get rid of that message icon. It's really annoying to get a $400 phone that doesn't work properly right from the start, and I am considering returning mine. They told me it could be up to 6 months before they come out with the software fix.

My V635 does that occasionally. The only way I can clear it is to go into my messages and "Cleanup messages - All". Very strange as even if I have Zero messages in my Outbox/Inbox the indicator would still show, but when I cleared out all zero messages, it would remove the indicator.

Let me know if that does anything.

Fixed it. Sent a SMS Voice to myself (had to try it twice). Once I got the message open messaging, and listen to and then delete message and the icon is finally gone.

Thanks, aray213. That fixed mine too. I swear the technician at the Sprint store told me he tried that, and it didn't work, but apparently it wasn't a voice SMS he did. Problem solved. Thanks again.

thanks aray213 for the advice, it worked for me too.

i had a sprint tech support ticket out too. apparently sprint doesnt know about this. but motorola does. but all it gives you is a phone number to call sprint tech

Its funny. Once I fixed mine I called back Sprint to let them know because I had an open ticket as well and all they said was there is still an issue. I tried to tell them that this has cleared up the issue with several people but they are the all knowing oz and want nothing to do with us peons.

On the phone with two techs who were unable to resolve the issue. Sending a SMS message to myself and deleting it removed the message icon from my Sprint V3m phone.

Great Post..Called back to report the fix as well.
