I placed my order over the phone on Feb 4th and had to sign a authorization fax on the 5th. If SE ships out someone elses order B/4 mine (that ordered after me on the web) because I placed a PHONE ORDER through CS, I'm going to be p*ssed! That's not "First come First Served"

yeah i ordered mine over the web and didnt require no authorization form or anything whatsoever, if you want, ill post my copy of the email i got from them....

my email didn't state anywhere that web orders come first before phone orders or vice versa...

Interesting indeed. I ordered mine last week and had to do the Fax confirmation thingy as well. Digi, on what date did you order yours? They may send confim e-mails to those who ordered online? Just a guess. Anyway, it seems that the orders are being filled and their (ES's) shipments are coming in. We have to get ours soon so BengalBoy doesn't get bored playing in the sandbox all alone.

Hold on to the Swedish made P800's you have...The French made one's have bad screens...They are too bright and colors look washed out or faded...Sorry all this is off topic...

i ordered mine on feb 7th... how do you know the france made ones have washed out screens? i doubt it will be like that, since they're taking forever, i would hope they get everything perfect before the US actually ships this item out...

The SE message says they'll ship the phone 4 to 6 weeks after YOUR ORDER. If that's true, and you ordered 2/7, you're just about due. Do you think they meant that, or they really mean 4 to 6 weeks from today?

I gotta share this story...

Since I can't get my P800 yet and I can't order a Digital Bluespoon yet. I thought I'd get a HBH-60 instead... I need something to tie me over.

So I ordered one from SE (at $199... I know they're going cheaper now) and had it sent 2nd day. Well guess what happened.
It snowed here on day 2 (hasn't snowed this much ALL winter) and the Fed Ex plane couldn't land. Soooo you would think that the package would be delivered by the next following day (sun shining day 3) but Noooo. So now I called and they said the package went to a different state! And would you believe that Fed Ex is saying they won't issue me a refund because of bad weather. Well we'll see if they can find my house tomorrow... Day 4???

IMO If you have a choice, don't use Fed Ex... they even have a screwed up tracking system. UPS has always treated me better!

Fed (X) has not heard the last of me about this one.

well the email from SE states that we should expect our orders within 4-6 weeks, meaing it can come anytime from now til the 4rth or 6th week... i hope i get mine soon

My e-mail said 4 to 6 weeks after I placed my order, which was 4 weeks ago. Does your e-mail say something different?

I ordered over the phone, not sure exactly which day, but I believe the first or second day it showed up on the SE website.

Mine was shipped yesterday and will arrive Monday.

Ok guys...Regarding the Swedish and French made P800's...I am not in the US but in Bahrain...Here they have been selling the P800 since day one of the official release...First few batches were Swedish and then they started importing French made ones...Last night (Thursday night) I saw two friends that I don't see often and both had French made P800's...They were not made at the same time...I checked the week they were made...I noticed both the screen were different to the one I have...Both had the same washed out look and with a brighter screen...This was something I noticed and I don't want to start a flaming war about the quality...

I am not into photography and don't own a high-end camera to take a good picture of the screens...The best I can do is maybe take a picture with a Sony Mavica and post it here...

i do have both in my hands last night. both came from switzerland. one is for me and one is for someone and since my girl is the one that shipped it here, i had to choose first. sure enough i chose the made in france. everything is better on this unit that i have compared to the sweden.

it's just my opinion, i mean there's no problem getting a SECOND or a THIRD p800 anyway.

For what it's worth, I called the SE Mobile Sales Center (1-866-837-7290) to inquire about my order (had my order number handy).

The sales assistant I spoke with said that SE should begin shipping during the 3rd week of March. Units will be shipped on a first-ordered/first-shipped basis.

I asked the sales assistant if she could tell me where I was on the list and she was able to look it up; I'm in the top 20 supposedly. I hope that's true, I thought I would be in the hundreds or thousands or something. I placed my order on February 7.

I'd like to thank Digitalic for the original post on ordering from SE; I ordered right after seeing it.

You lit a fire under me, mostly because I saw the phone number there so I decided to give them a call. I placed my order 2 weeks ago on like the 23rd and he said it would be another 2-4 weeks before I received my shipment. He did say the orders are being filled. Can't wait! Thanks for the post. I think this forum will be filled with posts by late April when most of these P800's have shipped!

I don't doubt what you say...It was just something I saw on 2 P800's that were made in France...I can't remember the exact dates they were made but, I can remember that the dates were different...As production goes on they get better...Don't you think that is a possibility?...

I ordered on the 5th and I definitely know I'm in the 2nd batch. There were a number of block orders that swallowed up that first batch but there may have been a few single orders placed and those would be the ones we'll be hearing about (receiving theirs) before we get ours.

Spoke with customer service today regarding my pre-order P800 after seeing where user Tristo had received his. It appears that the first batch of phones were shipped and that I am in the second batch which will ship somewhere between this Wensday and next Wensday according to the phone rep. So,,,,,,good luck to all of you who pre-ordered, it appears that there is a good chance you will have your P800 before the end of the week.

Hey all,

I got some more info from a phone rep. I don't know if this has been covered before, but SE has 4 deliveries going out this month. The 1st goes out on the 12th of March, 2nd goes out on the 18th, 3rd goes out on the 22nd, and the 4th goes out on the 25th. That said, she mentioned there were a total of 840 phones coming to SE and only 680 had been spoken for. If you ordered on line or over the phone you should be getting yours this month!

I guess every SE phone rep has a different story. I called today and was told they would get phones in the end of March, and start shipping them.

Since I have read more than a dozen different posts over the last 2 months that all claim a different date for the phones to ship, each time from a "reliable source", or "insider", or "manager", etc., and not one of these predictions has yet come true, I'm guessing that no one knows just when the phones will ship.

If we get enough posts to cover every possible date, then when the phones do ship, at least one person will be able to claim they were right!

So here's mine: March 26 is definitely rock-solid absolute certain the day SE will ship on-line orders.

Look, I have not said anything up until today, but I am very confident that an order will ship this week, in fact, if you have any question that your credit card will not support the charge, ie. you ran up your limit since pre-order, you better get your balance down in the next day or risk being scratched from the list for the second batch. As for Tristo, I was told that some people have already received theirs from the the first batch sent last week, so it is probable that he is telling the truth and not some Newbie looking for attention.

I'm not pulling any one's leg here but telling you guys the facts. Don't let yourself be scratched from the second batch, get your balance down before Wensday or if that's not a problem, be ready for your confirmation email sometime between Wensday the 12th and Wensday the 19th.

I am excited! I have been without mine for a month now and I am certainly not going to be without it again. As Jeff Harris said in another thread, it's so easy to clone one with the back up program, from now on my backup is going to be another P800! I got to put my T68i up for sale now.

So, 3VW get ready, this is your week as well, I'm telling you it will be filled as the phones are due Wensday.

just wanted to share...got off the phone w/Jessie who is a SE rep. he looked up my status report and he believes that i'll be getting my phone w/in two weeks.

according to him, they've been fulfilling orders already and have been shipping the phones out 50 at a time.

i also asked him if he had any info on the software version the shipping phone contained (R1D...R1F???) but he said he had no idea.....

also inquired as to whether the phones were made in sweden or france (my 1st P800 was a french-made one...), but although he said that they normally have this info, it wasn't on the system this time....

so, keeping my fingers crossed i get my 2nd toy in 2 weeks....

VD sounds good, but is about 3,000 miles too far away and $40 + shipping seems a great deal of $$ just to update the software version on a phone that costs so much to begin with

I believe that SE will not charge for the service. It takes about 10 business days, upon receipt, for SE to return the phone to you. Most "3rd party" shops charge about $40, if not more, and will usually return the phone within a couple of days. VD also offers 30-day free upgrades on firmware upgrades.
