LG CU500 VS Samsung "Cingular Sync" A707

I have the CU500. I love everything about it as far as sound and video and features. The screen is beautiful and it sounds great. The reception is not nearly as good as that I had with my old Sony ericsson t306. It doesn't come in nearly as well and drops calls in more places.

I played with the sync in the store yesterday. The screen is a bit bigger than the CU500. The outter screen is not nearly as nice and it "feels" rather cheap in comparison.

For anyone that has had both...would you say the synch has better RF or is it just going to be the same?

thanks

Well i do work for the company and shouldnt play favorites, the sync is a much nicer phone. My favorite part was the lock options, being able to just messages or my content contacts or all.

I too work Cingular and I personally rock out with the Sync. I love the screen, I love the keypad, the reception on it is great. There is nothing I would say bad about this phone. I love Nokia's and Samsung phones anyway. I know this wasnt much feedback but if your considering a switch I would say go for it.

Jayden0606 and CellPhoneGod....as you both work for Cingular....have you experienced any issues with the SYNC earpiece sounding muffled? I'm debating returning mine for another SYNC if my problem is isolated....I'm constantly asking those on the other end to repeat themselves....I need a treble control on this bad boy...

For such a nice phone it sure has the ugliest outer screen Ive seen since space invaders. The moment you look at that screen you are thinking "cheap phone"

I agree the sync is fairly unattractive compared to the 500. I'm more interested in reception and battery life over beauty at this point.

I went from a sony to the cu500 as well but I am not having any issues with my regarding dropped calls.I think I have had 2 and from what I understand, the samsung would not be much of an improvement

I had a CU500 for about a month and I've had an A707 for a little over a week with about 5 days overlap. I really liked them both and hated to give one up. This is my unprofessional assessment: They both have their quirks. In my area (non-3g), reception is about the same. I believe the battery life was a little better on the LG (I had it switched to 2G only) but not by much. I liked the mp3 player on the LG much better. The camera on the A707 was noticably better - better colors. The outer display on the A707 blows and is a disgrace to the rest of the phone. The inner screen on the A707 is awsome but I think the CU500 is fine. For me, and it might be silly, but the LG was easier to "grab". I've come close to dropping the A707 several times already where it seems to slip out of my hands. I never noticed that with the CU500. I noticed very little difference between the two as far as call quality and sound although the LG was a little louder - again, not by much. I ended up keeping the A707 for no real good reason other than the camera, inner screen, and a few other features that the LG didn't have.
I'm happy with my decision so far but I have my fingers crossed.

I was thinking about the A707 but was wondering how the battery life was on it.

I'm not a heavy user. My last charge lasted 5 days. My benchmark 2 year old V551 would easily last a week, give or take a day. With all the A707 has over the old V551, I'll sacrifice a couple days of charge with no complaints.

the " muffled " sound was a HUGE PROBLEM for me .. a TREBLE setting is exactly what it needs ..

the first a707 i had was so bad i decided to call and get another one sent to me .. just to make sure it was all of them and not jsut mine

second one was about the same . .but there was a problem with the flip .. so i sent it back

i am currently on the 3 'rd A707 and its not great . but it is a big difference from the other two ...

from what i have heard .. the first run of A707's were really muffled .. and that the second batch seems to be getting a better review ... i know the last one that i got was a SECOND BATCH .. since it came with the " correctd page 90 " ...

I'm still under the 30 day trial period with the A707 and I'm afraid its going back. The whole "not being able to close the phone while on speakerphone" just keeps annoying me. Also, the outside display sucks, and the speakers sound like they are going to break if they are on high volume.

I'm sorry to say it, but my V3i is still awesome. I might actually get that HSDPA RAZR if it comes out soon. **Crossing fingers**

Can anyone compare speeds in 3g area between the two phones? My A707 only pulls about 330kbps on a good day, whereas my blackjack was pulling more like 900kbps.

My A707 with the muffled tone issue must be from a recent batch then...I've got the "revised" pg 90 User's Guide.........looks like a a bit of white tape with the USB cable info printed on it.

Ha - I just checked and I got the same thing! Funny thing is I bet the Cingular stores here don't even sell the cable... Guess I have to order online?
