20 units so they can put you on a mailing list and spam you until the cows come home? It's probably worth it if you give them junk info and use a disposable e-mail address. Unless of course, they start text spamming your phone...

Warning: You must add an airtime card to get the free 20 minutes. So it's NOT free, it's more like a buy 60, get 20 free deal.

I have a bonus code that has been getting me 30 "free" minutes with a 60 min. card. It is 54604. It was still valid as of the end of November. It is better than the "let them spam" minutes you describe.

Can that code be used more than once on the same phone?

I have used it two and three times on a phone (and on multiple phones like this) and it has worked each time. However, I cannot guarantee it, I have been using it for several months.

Okay thanks. I've never been clear as to whether the same promo code can be used on the same phone multiple times. Only way to know is to try!

Thanks to haydeno and mharris127 I used both the free units promo (20 units) and the 54604 promo (30 units) in conjunction with a 60 unit Tracfone refill card, and got 110 units on both of my Tracfones! As far as the spam i'll probably get on the addresses I signed up - since I own my own domain name I can create multiple unique aliases for uses such as signing up to be a "Tracfone Insider", etc. If I get any spam, I'll just setup the alias to delete all incoming mail to that address.

EDIT: This was the text of the email I got when my "Insider" account was estabilshed:

Dot Null --

Thanks for responding back to us. BTW, I did not know they were stacking promos, it is worth a try, I guess.

It is good to know my code is still working, I will need to use it again in the next few days. If you need more minutes, the code I have for 60 minutes on a 120, 250, or 400 minute card is 58094; a better code for 250 minute cards is 56471, getting you an extra 100 minutes. I cannot guarantee them, Tracfone can discontinue them at any time. Please let me know if anyone tries them. These codes are the best $2.99 I ever spent on eBay.

Thank you for sharing the promo codes with us. I'm sure the Tracfone community here at HoFo will greatly appreciate them and put them to good use. I mostly use the 60 unit airtime cards (mainly because I have a cache of them from one of Tracfone's recent promo), so thanks again for the 54604 promo code!

You are welcome. Please post here after using them, I am curious to know if they still work like the 60 minute one does, there is no harm done if one is used and it does not, you still get either face value for the minutes or an error message saying the code is no longer valid (in which case your card is still good, just reenter it without a code). I ask because Tracfone claims they can discontinue at any time and I got them three months ago.

The fourth time I tried using code 58094 I got a message stating "Error promo code already used. 120 minutes added". This was using rapid refill. So moral of the story, add airtime online to prevent this from happening.

How does adding time online solve this dilemma? The code was evidently used too many times on the phone, how would using the online service helped?

BTW, Last time I tried to apply a card online, I was directed to the redeem airtime function on the phone and not allowed to do it online (it was an old phone and I did not realize that Trac added the function to it).

When you add airtime online and give an invalid promo code, it will give you the opportunity to try again with a valid promo code (up to 3 tries I think?). If you fail with a promo code on the phone directly, you don't get a second chance.

I had to add airtime online for a Net10 phone because my add airtime feature on the phone wouldn't work (it was there but broken for some reason). At first the website appeared to not be allowing me to proceed, but I found some fine print in a corner somewhere that I was able to click on to continue with the online airtime addition. Maybe you just didn't see it? Then the website asked me if that's what I really wanted to do (add airtime online) and I clicked on "yes." It went through, then there were some additional programming codes it wanted me to put into my phone. I put those in, hoping it would enable the add airtime feature on the phone, but unfortunately, I STILL couldn't add airtime on that phone directly... arg...

I Just Want To Know How To Get Free Airtime? That Simple. Does Anyone Know For Real?

On Tracfone? You can't do it legally. I don't know how to do it illegally, and I wouldn't tell you or anyone else if I did. That's why they call it "illegal."

There is a way to get free airtime on Virgin Mobile legally. It's called Sugar Mama. Check out the Virgin Mobile subforum for details.

On Tracfone, there are ways to get bonus units, but they always involve actually purchasing airtime first. As in "buy one get one" sort of thing.

There are ways to legally get discounts on most prepaid cards. If there is a specific carrier you want to know about, just ask. But we're talking discounts, rebates, or BOGO, not totally free.
