680 colors paint or molded into the housing?

I went with the red, toss up btwn red or orange. Has anyone noticed if the phone is painted or is it the housing dye molded the color?

I think it's valid. If it's painted on, it'll chip easier and look worse sooner. If it's part of the mould, then the color won't chip off. I'm assuming that's what seanobx wanted.

I think, like all the other Treos before it, it's both. It's painted but the paint is fused to the body so it won't chip.

Can't tell easily but if I had to guess I would say the paint is molded into the phone. When I take the back off of the 680 the color wraps around the removable back and the housing edges - the 650 did not. The housing feels different too - not as slick as the 650. No scratches yet so it is hard to tell what my copper 680 will look like in a few months! My 650 is scratched up pretty seriously after a year and a half of years of heavy use.

thanx ride, thats what i meant. painted vs. moulded means that if i scratch it, the paint wont flake or chip off. SO YEAH I THINK IT WAS WARRANTED
