Hi, i'm a long time lurker first time poster here. Reading these forums made me decide to get a sharp 903sh. But anyways, as i was performing a hard reset on my phone to wipe out all the settings, the battery died on me. (ya.. i know it was stupid, i should of done a soft reset and put the charger in)
To make a long story short, now the phone wont even turn on, it wont even goto the iniltializing screen, and when I plug in the charger it doesnt even have the LED charging indicator. My main guess is that I should try to get the phone reflashed, will that fix the problem? or am i stuck with a dead phone? =/

i suggest do the hard reset again. just make sure charge the battery full fisthand. if you can't do that with ur phone since its not working try using other charger (such as the one that u clip on directly to the battery's metal terminal, or try using someone else's 903 battery that is fully charge put in to ur dead 903 and do the hard reset again (pressing and holding # and power button at the same time)

i tried doing hard reset before, not knowing what is it for. and when the white screen appeared with some information i don't understand showing, being stupid, i removed the battery right away since i thought that i killed the phone. thus hard reset wasn't completed. i just tried doing the hard reset again and waited till its done and its fine again.

disclaimer: no guaranty that it will work the same way to your phone as it is a different case that happend to mine.=)

instead of the standard battery, you can use 2x AA alkaline batteries (or 3x AA NIMH batteries) in a battery holder with positive and negative alligator clips on it. just connect them to the battery terminals on the phone. or use an RPS (regulated power supply) set at 3V, 3.6V or 4.2V; anything in this range will power the chip nicely.
