Ok nobody flame me for this if it's been posted already [I've searched already and have not seen what exactly I'm looking for]

Here's the deal, I've aquired a Motorola Rokr E1 phone with T-Mobile as the current service programed on there. I have Cingular as my service which in turn I have a Cingular SIM and I'm trying to unlock the Rokr so I can use that instead. I have the unlock code BUT even with the Cingular SIM card in I do not get the "Enter Special Code" or "Enter Subsidy Code" screen when I turn the phone on. All that it does is it shows "Emergency Calls Only" in the upper left corner. Where do I go on my phone to input the code?

This worked for me: turn on the phone (if the flex is indeed locked to T-Mo) with a Cingular sim in it; as you said, you are not getting the "unlock code" screen, but "Emergency Only", so let the phone sit for 10-15 minutes or so and the "unlock code" note should appear. What happened to me was I tried a couple of codes that were given to my by Cingular (but I did not know that the codes were incorrect) and after 3 or 5 times (I don't remember exactly) entering the incorrrect code, the phone would not boot to the "enter unlock code" message, rather it booted to Emergency Only or "Contact Service Provider". A friend advised me to wait a few minutes for the phone to boot past that screen; it did, I entered the correct code; and now it is unlocked
