Are they compatible? I wated to pick one up after work, Tried to search for the answer using my BJ & opera mini but I keep getting told that im not a registered user even though I'm logged in

here is my taKe on it. ts don't under Stand why buy a 2 g B card for 80 Buc KS when you can Buy 2- 1' gig cards for 5S- BucKs. sorry iam writing with my 8525 transcriber!

I thought about that but I can have 3 gigs for the price of 3 AND... I kinda like having seperate cards for, games, music, and or pictures... untill 2 gb prices come down... the 27 dollar kingston 1 gb is for me...

Just wait till he is listening to music on his music card and trying to run one of the programs he installed on his program card. Or wanting to play that cool game he installed while he is listening to his tunes. We may hear a different story from him then.

I see no need to call someone an idiot. Just because his idea of value/convenience differs from yours does not make him an idiot. For your intended use of the phone, no it does not seem smart. I won't lecture anymore, but wouldn't it have been just as easy to say that in the first place.

Maybe you're having a bad day, I don't know you and I don't want to judge you. I am just getting a bit tired of people calling others names just because they do not agree with them. I mean, really, this is a forum about phones. There is no need, and I'm not just talking about you, to attack someone on a personal level over a difference of opinion about a phone.

Now, if he said something about your car, I'd be offering up ways to strike back

In some ways his idea is smart. First, and I think this is the main point he was trying to make, 2 1G cards are cheaper than 1 2G card. Financially speaking that's smart. The second benefit is that he has a backup card in the event that one of his 1G cards dies. Very smart. If you're 2G card bites the dust for any reason you've lost access to that 2G of data until you can resynch or replace it. In his case he could have critical info on both cards. Likewise if you're in a place where you might not be able to get a fast replacment for your failed 2G card he'll still be able to slide in the secondary 1G card and "limp" along whereas you might be hosed.

It says on cingular.com under technical specs

"MicroSD(TM) expansion slot supports up to a 2 GB card", maybe they didn't update website?

I just got a 2gb card couple of days ago, works fine.. =/

interesting. Went to some training about 3 weeks ago and there are some severe issues from what we were told. Samsung says its supported (where the specs on the web came from I believe) but a lot of people have been having problems. I understood it as it "may work" but we won't support it or warranty it if you decide to try it type-of-thing.

i bought my 2 gig caRD FROM A LOCAL CINGUALR STORE AND HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS WITH MY BLACKJACK WITOUT ANY PROBS SO STOP THESE RUMORS

listen buddy RELAX.no need to be over enthusiastic..what he is saying is correct..we work for Cingular..u don't..if its working for u than good.but there are complaints from other people...

oh since you claim to work for cingular why dotn you explain to me why cingular stores are selling those card with blackjacks while you guys say they are not supported.

.now back to topic ...i never said that they are not compatible...i said that there have been complaints that 2gb sd cards are not working properly..if i is working for you then thats good for you...

Samsung also states on their web site that 1G cards are the largest supported card and they even recommend 512M cards for performance reasons.

I was curious about the performance issues. Is there really that much difference between a 1G and a 2G card? Samsung seems to indicate that a larger card will perform slower which doesn't make sense to me.
