What's up with that? I have a MAC at home and a PC at work.

At work it charges when connected to the PC - at home it doesn't charge when connected to the MAC???

WTF?

I can get mine charge to charge just fine when hooked to my iMac, it shouldn't need to be synced up to charge. To test go here and download the trial of the missing sync:

http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_windowsmobile.php

Run the program and connect the phone, if that fixes the problem then I guess that's what it is, but that shouldn't be happening. I have my phone hooked up right now and The Missing Sync is turned off, and it is charging. (It would charge while hooked up even before I purchased TMS)

I want to say that Missing Sync doesn't ever turn "off"...i.e. there's always an open process which monitors the plugging in of a smartphone.

I'm actually using Parallels in order to use ActiveSync. It works fine, but Parallels has to be on in order to have the phone charge.

Weird. My Blackjack 'dings' when I connect it to my iMac, but it doesn't charge.

Is there a way to transfer files from the Mac to the Blackjack? I tried bluetooth. It connects, but the Mac says there are no services available. I tried USB but that's not working either.

Maybe Missing Sync would help. Checking that out now...

Which model and year of Mac? And which USB port are you plugging into? USB ports on the keyboard aren't powered AFAIK.

Intel 2 ghz core duo. I've tried plugging directly into the back of the iMac. The phone dings, but the charging icon never pops up.

I was hoping to transfer files via Bluetooth but it doesn't look like that's possible. I guess I could always buy a microSD card and transfer files with it.

I don't know what services are required to enable bluetooth transfers, but the blackjack has a differant service list from my old Sony Ericsson S710, which let me transfer files via bluetooth fine.

The only ways I have found to get it to work is to use The Missing Sync, which as far as I am concerned is a wonderful program that is more than worth the money.
