BB Pearl Auto Time Update?

I just got the Pearl on T-Mobile, and I've been flying around and noticed that the phone is not updating the time to the local time zone. If I go into Date/Time, there is a line that shows the actual network time, but for some reason the time on the Home Screen is still set to Central where I live. So the phone knows its in a different time zone, but not changing the screen.
I have tried to change it to BB vs Network, but no luck.
What's the word here?

...did you also select the option to "update time" in the menu? I have mine set to network and have never had a problem with it automatically updating.

Ok in the menu, do you mean:
Options
Date/Time
The only place I see update time is if I then click the menu I can Update Time, but it does not do anything. It's showing Network Time to be local, but its displaying my local time in Texas, not here in So Cal.

I do not know why it is not displaying correctly... You did what I had suggested correctly. When you select update time, it should take the network or Blackberry time (depending on what you selected) and reset your phone time to that...

When you go to options then date/time look for a field that reads date/time source. What does it read there? You have 3 options: Network, BlackBerry or Off. I have mine set to Network. I travel often and it always auto adjusts the time for me.

I have mine set to Network.
I just updated to the latest FW from BB/T-Mobile the other day. I only got the phone a day before that, so I don't know if it worked on older FW, but I've got everything set correctly, and my clock is not changing.
Two questions,
1. Are you guys on T-Mobile, maybe its there network.
2. What Firmware are you running?

No, my Pearl will not auto update the time.
I have to go into date/time and change the time zone manually.
No one has offered any help that works.

I can't see it being the phone. I was on the line with TMO BB Tech last nite and the gal could not get the test Pearl to work either.
I'm going to go by the store and check out another phone.

reading above..it doesn't seem to be a problem with others.. but i have a cingular branded one it does the same thing as yours!!

My time zone is changing to eniwetok -12 on its own. I tried to change it to Blackberry and than network but it will go back to eniwetok -12 in a few hours. How do i make it stick to eastern??

i spoke with cingular and they said they could try and do a "flashing" procedure. something like take the battery out, then they do something on their end, and then put the battery back in and it should reset the "network" function. i haven't tried it,, but that'll be next. i'm sure TMobile should be able to do the same thing.. keep me posted

So far my understanding is the the T-Mobile Pearl will not auto update the time. You need to go into Date/Time and switch the time zone your in, then save it.
I've not found anything online or via BB Tech support to tell me other wise.
