RAZR V3c problems?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just bought a Chocolate but I'm not happy with it, so I'm considering replacing it with the RAZR V3c. How sturdy is this phone, any reliability problems?

I'm not a big user, couple of calls a day and I always keep my phone in a case.

TIA.

He broke his phone. That does not make it a bad phone.

This phone holds up very well for it's size. It has a metal housing, and the plastic is very good quality. This phone very rarely breaks.

For most normal users, you should have no problem getting at least a full day of use off of a full charge.

I fix these for a living and I have not seen a single one crack. The screen cable may come loose on phones that have 'excessive wear.' This happens VERY rarely.

This board has a cool thing called private messaging. You should look into that.

In the end, when people ask me if I would recommend this phone, I say yes. Motorola really stepped it up with their new slim line of phones. They are much better than the older ones. I say go for it. If this phone sucked the media would be all over it. The RAZR is currently the most popular phone in the world.

I have to agree-- the razr V3c has been a great phone for me. It's got a decent camera and is easy to navigate around the phone, and easy to use. It's very durable, and has withstood water damage and still works pretty good.

I would definetly recommend it for someone in the market for a new phone.

EXACTLY. I am in the repair business and as a test we took my employee's 3 day old V3m and smacked in on our counter - NO CRACKED LCD!!

I customer was shocked. We tossed it across our shop - NO CRACKED LCD!!

We see FAR MORE cracked LCDs on other handsets. The V3c is a great phone!

I just bought one on eBay that was definitely abused.

Counter says it's been used 102 hours (talk time), shows scuffs and inside had dust combined with sweat and oil to create a sticky gray grime (previous owner must have been oily).

The hinge is a little looser than I'd like, but all in all, it looks to have survived the abuse of its previous owner very well.

I had a razr v3c and I was working on my car. I tried to close the hood for some reason it didn't close all the way so I tried again. Well I fond the razr bent in half laying in an obscure part of the engine compartment. All I did was hold the battery on the contacts and the darn thing turned on and made calls. Could not read the screen though. I called signal insurance off of it to make my claim.
