new phone for t-mobile user

so i just had my motorola v330 pretty much die on me (i can still make calls, but the display does not work at all). piece of shi1t. 15 months that lasted. anyway, i've been with t-mobile for a while, so i can get most phones for pretty cheap. i'm looking for something durable (i work in production), something that i can transfer mp3's to (and use them as ringtones), and that's about it. camera/video would be ok, but not necessary. i don't think i'd like to go with motorola again. when i talked to the t-mobile guy, he said the display could have died because of temperature changes (going from outside minneapolis/chicago winter to indoor heat). i don't really buy that, but if true, averting that would be great.
