I have accepted a position as an assistant manager for a corporate store in a midsized Arkansas town. Most of the threads I have read have dealt with hourly positions. What can I expect as an assistant manager? Is teh comission structure the same, or is it based off of the store's performance? Also, are the benefits the same, or worse. And how about demo lines? I have been told if I prove myself, I could replace the manager in a few months, as a store manager III. I guess this is a good opportunity.
Thanks

not sure about the whole "proving yourself thing" but an asm is hourly still, just normally at a higher rate than reps. This is kind of good because you can still get overtime. Your commission is based on what the store sells. benefits are the exact same as what everyone else gets.

I'm a rep in NW Arkansas and our Asst. Mgr is making less now than when she was a rep because our store is soooo slow. It all depends on your stores performance. Reach store goals = good commission. No traffic = bad commission. From what I gather it is based on reaching a set dollar amount rather than a per opp amount.
Good luck.

If you like hiding in your office all day ,becoming a professional email sender , like coming to the corp stores only to fire reps and like brown nosing with higher ups in Atlanta then become a MGR corp HO type .
Otherwise you wont make it .
