problems with xpressmail and blackjack

ive tried a bunch of different ways to setup gmail and my blackjack, nothing works 100%. So far using the default setup with xpressmail, works the best but here's some problems:
why does my home screen now display 2 calendars (xpressmail and the default calendar)?
when i go into my mail box, hit menu > options > and i try and open option 4 (account settings) it just stays on that screen and doesnt open the settings. when i create a new account not using xpressmail, just using the "new account..." in the messaging screen, i am able to change the settings easily.
anyone else run into these problems?
