To get oily fingerprints and dirt off, I use eye glass cleaning (alchohol) wipes. They have a brand called "See Clear" and I get a box of them at costco. I use them on practically everything that I'd want to avoid scratching. They work great on mice, keyboards, and just about anything to get finger oil off. They get my PDA screens very clean. Once you clean it, definitely get a screen protector. Then you can clean it without worrying as much about damaging it.

Also, as FutureXec says, any microfiber cloth for the same purpose (screens and glasses) is the best thing to use.
