SE k790 / k800 problem with looking up contacts

Does anyone know if there's other way of looking up the contact? So far you can only search by first or last name only (depending on your listing preferences). I know the k790 is not a pocket pc but with my mda i was able to look up the contact even if i forgot the first name. i could just enter first few letters of any field (first, last, company, etc) and it would give me all the contacts which contain these letters. with the k790 there is no real search function. or is there? I would like to enter first few letters of anything and then click search and it should show me different contacts... but with the 790 I have to remember all the first names of my customers in order to quickly find it.
Help!!!

just press the letter of the persons name and it should jump to the first person with that letter.

Right. But what if I don't remember if the person I need to call is named bob or robert or john? Let's say I'm sure of a last name "Smith". if i press "b" i will not get robert or john or smith, even if I press S for smith, it's not gonna show me this name because it's listed per first name... In the contacts it's listed as "Bob Smith", but I would like to be able to enter optional info in order to do the search. It comes in handy if I have a contact let say like this: "Bob Smith, Alstate Insurance". Now I don't talk to bob too often. I just know it under Alstate... but no luck finding it, is there?
