I think some of you have been able to do this through stores, but what about Cingular's website? I can't seem to buy the phone w/o selecting a post-paid plan. Would I be able to order either phones by calling Cingular and just give them my credit card #?

As far as I know, the only way to get the so-called retail price is to go into a store. I've never tried buying one from the phone, but going in-store seems to be the "least restrictive" mode of buying a phone.

(BTW: by my clock, you only gave us about 3 hours to respond to your query, in the middle of the night Central time even. I realize I'm up at night, but not many other people are..

)
