New 8703e - Speakerphone & In Minutes

I just received a BB8703e for Verizon. I am likely giving up my 7520 for it. Two concerns so far. The speakerphone is very quiet. Is that what the new 8700s are like? If so, that's a major downgrade from the Nextel BBs.
Also, I was shocked when I made my first Verizon to Verizon call. It sounded very compressed compared to calls to landlines and other cell carriers. Could that be a problem with my handset or does Verizon compress all of the "In" calls?

The speakerphone's not quiet on my 8700c. I haven't used the CDMA models though...

I may have to take the 8703e to the Verizon store and compare it to the demo they have to see if there is a problem with the handset.

i have the 8703e and love it speaker phone great and call quality above reproch
